This Privacy Policy explains what information carpark-hk.com ("we", "the site") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Who we are

carpark-hk.com is a free, independent web service showing real-time car-park and street-parking vacancy across Hong Kong. We are not affiliated with the Government of the Hong Kong SAR or with any car-park operator. You can reach us at carpark-hk@protonmail.com.

Information we collect

  • No account, no sign-up. We do not collect your name, email or phone number unless you choose to email us.
  • Location data. If you use "find nearest", your browser asks permission to share your location. It is used only in your browser to sort car parks by distance — it is not sent to or stored on our servers.
  • Local storage. Preferences such as language, theme and bookmarks are stored in your own browser and never leave your device.
  • Aggregate analytics. We use a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics tool to count page views. It does not track individuals across sites.

Cookies and advertising

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense.

How we use information

We use the limited information above only to operate and improve the site — to show nearby parking, remember your preferences, understand which pages are popular, and display advertising that keeps the service free.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Parking data comes from public open-data sources and operators; advertising is handled by Google as described above. We may disclose information if required by law.

Your choices

  • Decline the browser location prompt to keep your location private.
  • Clear your browser's local storage to remove saved preferences.
  • Use the Google and aboutads.info links above to control personalised ads.

Children's privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Language

This Privacy Policy is provided in English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the versions, the English version shall prevail.
